Kultur-turKultur-tur guide
How to plan, walk and play a culture tour in Stockholm.
1. Plan
- Random tour: on the Kultur-tur page pick how many stops, which types, the walking length and an area or start/finish point, then tap Create tour.
- Plan for a time: choose day and start time, and only places that are open when you arrive are picked.
- Your own tour: use Build your own tour to pick stops yourself, write clues and add sounds step by step.
- Adjust: add places from the map popups, move stops with the arrows and remove them with ×.
- Save the tour. Signed in, it is kept in your account; otherwise on this device. Find it later under Gallery.
2. Walk
- Open the tour and tap Show my position to see yourself on the map.
- Each stop has walking directions with street names, plus distance and time.
- Tap a stop name for details, opening hours and prices, or Directions to open Google Maps.
- Share the tour with friends using the share icon — the link rebuilds the same tour.
3. Play “Where are we going?”
- Tick Play “Where are we going?” before creating, or tap Play in the Gallery.
- Only the first stop is shown. Clues — text, pictures or sounds — appear one at a time.
- Guess whenever you like. With Count points on, guessing earlier gives more points.
- Turn on the 100 m setting to unlock the next clues only when you have reached the previous stop.
Tips for first-timers
- Start small: 3–4 stops and 2–3 km is a relaxed first tour.
- Charge your phone and allow location access before you leave.
- Check opening hours, or use Plan for a time, so doors aren't closed when you arrive.
- Mix types — a gallery, a café and a bar make a nice rhythm.
- Writing clues? Start hard and end easy, and use the street or neighbourhood as hints.
- Turn up the volume for sound clues.
- Install the app from the menu to have it on your home screen.
